Fifty-five park workers and rescue crews combed the grounds for two missing hikers in Mount Rainier National Park Wednesday.
One of the missing hikers, Vincent Djie, 25, is an Indonesian student who has been living in Seattle. He was last seen at 3 p.m. Friday hiking the Van Trump Trail toward Mildred Point.
Djie was reported missing to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department when he did not return home Friday.
DJie’s vehicle was found later Monday at Longmire.
DJie was reportedly wearing black pants, a blue and white tie dye shirt and carrying a small drawstring-type bag, authorities said.
In a separate incident, a search was also conducted for Talah Sabbagh, 27, from Seattle.
Sabbagh was reported missing Monday and was last seen hiking in Paradise Sunday.
Park rangers said his vehicle was found in a parking lot at Paradise.
He was last seen wearing a gray shirt, black shorts and dark Nike shoes.
Park officials said missing person flyers posted on social media have helped to shed new light on the actions of the missing hikers.
Anyone with information regarding the hikers’ whereabouts is asked to call 360-569-6683.
Officials said most park trails are melted to approximately 5,000 feet with patchy snow on trails and drainages at lower elevations.
Searches for the hikers are expected to continue Thursday.
