Road rage leads to shooting on Kent’s East Hill

KENT, Wash. — Police say a road rage incident led to a man being shot on Kent’s East Hill Wednesday morning.

Kent officers were called to the 27000 block of 124th Ave SE at 7:07 a.m. for a report of a shooting.

While on their way to the scene, officers were told that the shooter and the person who was shot had both called 911 and remained at the scene.

Investigators said when officers arrived, they saw the shooter, a 43-year-old Auburn man, giving aid to the victim, a 33-year-old Shelton man. When medics arrived, they took over lifesaving efforts, and the victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he is undergoing treatment.

Police said the shooter told investigators that the altercation began as a road rage incident and the man who was shot broke his window and tried to enter his vehicle.

The shooter is cooperating with Kent detectives.

Several witnesses who called 911 are also being interviewed.
