KENT, Wash. — Firefighters put out two fires that were set in Kent Thursday morning, and a third fire is under investigation.

At 4:26 a.m., Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority tweeted that two people had broken a car window on the East Hill of Kent and threw “burning materials” inside the vehicle.

The fire was put out before it spread to a nearby building.

Fire officials said Kent police reported a similar car fire had happened in the Kent Valley and the fire marshal was investigating.

At 5:13 a.m., PSF tweeted about a dumpster fire near the Fred Meyer store on Kent’s East Hill. Firefighters quickly put out the flames before they spread.

Fire officials have not said if the fires are believed to be related.
