SEATTLE — Hockey fans who were hoping to find out NHL Seattle's team name will have to wait.
During a virtual happy hour Friday afternoon, general manager Ron Francis said his people were working hard with the trademark and getting it through the league, but they would likely wait to make the announcement.
“There’s a lot of people in our community experiencing some challenges, so we certainly want to be very respectful and sensitive and think about when is the right time to share our name with everybody,” Francis said.
Francis said a lot of what he is planning and wants to plan before the NHL expansion draft could be influenced by the pause in the season and when it could resume.
