PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — A crash on State Route 16 near Purdy has claimed the life of a motorcyclist, state troopers said.
The crash happened after 3 p.m. Saturday, shutting down all eastbound lanes of the highway at Burnham Drive for hours.
The man driving the motorcycle was taken to the hospital in critical condition but later died. A woman also riding on the motorcycle was injured and taken to the hospital.
Troopers did not say what led to the crash but are investigating.
