Mad dash to the store by last minute Christmas shoppers

SEATTLE — With the Christmas holiday just hours away, it’s a race against time to make sure there is food on the table.

Chloe Blair works overnight at a local hospital, and with Christmas off this year she rushed to the store as soon as she could get a chance.

But between supply chain issues and inflation, finding everything she wanted wasn’t easy.

“There are a couple things that I was having trouble finding but I found most of what I needed,” Blair said.

Others had to visit multiple stores to try and find everything on their holiday shopping list.

“I couldn’t find this anywhere else but here, this was the last bottle,” said Travis Dinh, holding a bottle of Irish whiskey.

Shopping last minute might be stressful, but some enjoy that late run to the store.

“What else are you going to do,” asks Devin Kunysz. “You’re off work you’re sitting around, you have to go run around and grab stuff, right?”
