GRAHAM, Wash. — Two people were killed in a head-on crash involving a semi-truck in Pierce County Tuesday.
The crash occurred in the 24300 block of Meridian E on State Route 161 in Graham around 3 p.m.
Officials with the Washington State Patrol said the semi-truck was traveling north on SR161 and collided with a car that was traveling south and was attempting to make a left turn.
The driver of the semi-truck had only minor injuries.
Both occupants of the car were killed, officials said.
Investigators closed both lanes of SR 161 for five hours.
Just after 9:30 p.m., the roadway was reopened.
