Firefighters pull 2 to safety from embankment

TACOMA, Wash. — Two people were pulled to safety after the car they were in went down an embankment on Sunday night in Tacoma.

The driver lost control and went through a guardrail, dropping about 50 feet near Fort Nisqually at Point Defiance Park, firefighters said.

Rescuers used a rope to pull the people to safety.

Neither of the people were injured despite the fall.

The incident is under investigation.
