EPHRATA, Wash. — The town of Ephrata in Grant County was in total darkness Wednesday night after a substation fire, deputies said.
At about 7 p.m., the Central Ephrata Substation was on fire. The adjacent PUD building caught on fire as well.
Grant County PUD officials said the Ephrata area was without power and there is no estimated restoration time.
Customers in Quincy and Soap Lake were affected, but their power has been restored.
Crews had the fires under control at about 8 p.m.
There were no injuries in the incident.
