DES MOINES, Wash. — A bicyclist was struck by a driver who then fled the scene in Des Moines Tuesday morning.
Des Moines police said the 53-year-old bicyclist was riding on the shoulder of Kent Des Moines Road near Tenth Avenue South at about 10:20 a.m. when a car struck him from behind.
The passenger-side mirror on the car, which may be a gray, late model Nissan Sentra, was ripped off the car by the impact.
The bicyclist was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the incident was recorded by a driver’s mirror camera and the witness gave the video to police.
The video is being reviewed as police continue to investigate.
