COVINGTON, Wash. — Deputies are searching for two men involved in a hit-and-run that left a person injured in Covington earlier this week.

On Tuesday, investigators said two men stole keys and cellphones from a group of people who were swimming at Lake Wilderness.

The keys were then used to unlock the victim’s parked car , and a purse was taken from inside, according to deputies.

Investigators said the victims tracked their phones and found the thieves selling their phones at the EcoATM inside the Walmart in Covington.

After the victims confronted the suspects, they got their phones back.

Deputies said the men got into a gray or green Key Sedona and drove away.

As the men were leaving, the victims tried to stop their car, and one of the victims was hit.

Deputies described the driver as a white woman with long brown or black hair and a heavy build. There were also two children in her car, who appeared to be 6 to 10 years old.

Anyone with information on the identity of the offenders are asked to call the King County Sheriff’s Office’s nonemergency line at 206-296-3311 and reference case  No. C20023027. People can also leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at p3tips.com.
