TACOMA, Wash. — A driver suspected of driving under the influence was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a car fire in Tacoma, investigators said.
The fire happened at a gas station in the 3000 block of South 38th Street.
According to police, a driver left the Burger King parking lot, hit an SUV, continued southbound and into the Brown Bear parking lot. The driver then struck a gas pump and a second car.
Investigators said the second car had a mother and her 7-year-old child inside. They were not injured.
Fire officials said when crews arrived, there was a fully-involved car fire at but they were able to put out the fire.
One person was taken to the hospital.
A TPD officer pulled the at fault driver out of his burning vehicle. The at fault driver has been placed under arrest for DUI. Only minor injuries to everyone involved. Thank you to the Tacoma Fire Department @TacomaFire for quickly getting the fire out!
