KENT, Wash. - Kent police shot and killed a man outside a hookah bar just after midnight Wednesday.
Kent police were called to the hookah bar in the Benson Plaza strip mall in the 23600 block of 104th Avenue Southeast after a woman called to report that a man was violating a protection order.

When police arrived, the man ran from the scene, managed to get into a vehicle and dragged one of the officers as he tried to escape.
At that point, two officers opened fire, killing the man.
No officers were hurt.
Police said the 20-year-old man had violated the protection order twice within 24 hours.
Police say the vehicle the suspect was in had been stolen.
