AUBURN, Wash. — The Auburn Police Department is taking steps to better help vulnerable people in emergency situations.
The “Take Me Home” program is now live. It allows people to register loved ones who have difficulty communicating or may need special assistance. That can include someone with autism, down syndrome, or dementia.
People can just fill out a form with the person’s information, physical description, photos, and more. And if an officer encounters that person they can search the database for details to identify them and assist them.
