INDEX, Wash. — The Snohomish County sheriff's office says it was called toTroublesome Creek near Index for a report of someone unable to get out of the water.
Witnesses said they were traveling as a group of four adults when two men in the group went swimming in the North Fork of the Skykomish River.
The area in which they were swimming was beneath a waterfall, with turbulent water and difficult swimming conditions.
One of the swimmers made it out but the other did not resurface.
The missing swimmer is a Lake Stevens man in his 20's.
The dive team will return to the area tomorrow to continue the recovery efforts.
