BREMERTON, Wash. — A 4:20 p.m. ferry from Bremerton to Seattle was delayed on Saturday evening -- after what the Washington State Department of Transportation called an emergency medical response.
The response occurred on board the Kaleetan ferry.
Washington State Ferries said the incident would delay the arrival of the 4:20 pm sailing from Bremerton to Seattle, the 5:35 pm sailing from Seattle -- and that it could delay the 6:45 pm sailing from Bremerton.
Witnesses told KIRO 7 that a passenger had jumped from the vessel.
Bremerton Police confirmed on Saturday evening, that a man with possible mental health issues had jumped from the ferry.
The ferry crew safely rescued the man, and he will be evaluated at a hospital.
