One dead, 2 injured in Lacey shooting

LACEY, Wash. — Authorities are investigating a shooting that killed one person and injured two others in Lacey.

Thurston County deputies responded to multiple calls of gunshots in the 6100 block of Ruddell Road Southeast Wednesday at about 9 p.m.  Neighbors said the shots came from inside the home.

"While we were responding, we got more calls into the dispatch center indicating that after a series of shots were fired and there were a lot of vehicles fleeing the residence," said Sgt. Tim Rudloff with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies arrived, they found a man dead in the living room of the home. Police said at the time of the shooting, about 10 people were inside the home near Chambers Prairie Elementary.

Deputies said two people with gunshot wounds showed up at an Olympia hospital with gunshot wounds.  Authorities suspect the two were involved in the shooting.

Deputies say they have been to the home once before for a drug robbery and believe the shooting was the result of a drug deal gone bad.
