BELLEVUE, Wash. — Fans of the fast food restaurant Chick-fil-A began camping in Bellevue Wednesday, a day before the area's first store opened.
The first 100 customers get a free meal each week for a year.
Dan Booher has been to 21 previous openings.
"It's just delicious. The chicken is juicy," Booher said.
Mary Vance, from North Carolina, was among the campers.
"I grew up having Chick-fil-A around, and it was never a missing presence in my life until I moved to Washington," Vance said.
Chick-fil-A also draws controversy.
In 2013, protests erupted after the company's president expressed his opposition to same-sex marriage.
A small protest is planned outside the Bellevue store Saturday morning.
