AUBURN, Wash. — An Auburn house is seriously damaged after flames tore through it shortly after power was restored to the area.
The fire in the home in the 4400 block of South 351st Street started about 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
Firefighters found flames in the home extending into the attic. The fire was put out in about 25 minutes.
The couple who lived in the home got out safely and is staying with family.
Significant damage was done to the inside of the home, and the garage had already been damaged by a falling tree during this week's windstorm, according to fire officials.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
