7 things to do this weekend: Sept. 27- 29

1. Seattle Home Show (Fall Show). CenturyLink Field Event Center. Starting October 12-13. The Spring and Fall show present hundreds of builders, for indoor and outdoor needs, with decorating, landscaping, appliances and many more ideas for home builders. 2. Beers and spirits. Brewfest. Annual Carleton Farm Fall Festival kick-off Brew Fest. Lake Stevens. Sept. 27 and 28.  Enjoy local brews at a quaint pumpkin patch and farm. Listen to live music as you walk through the pumpkin patches, try some pumpkin donuts and check-out all the Carleton Pumpkinland activities Friday times are 4-9:30 p.m. and Saturday the festival will be open from 11 a.m.- 9:30 p.m. Follow the link here for more event details.

3. National parks day. National Public Lands Day. Sept. 28. All day. There are more than 400 National State Parks Service-operated properties nationwide, including more than a dozen in Washington state alone. For this day, enjoy free entrance into any national park, history park, national trail or national recreational area. National Public Lands day recognizes the use of open land and space for educational, recreational and general health services. 4. Frightful events. Wild Waves Fright Fest. Sept. 27-Nov. 2. Tacoma. Saturday and Sundays, noon- 6 p.m. for Family by Day, 7-10 p.m., Fright by Night events. During the afternoon, enjoy "Family by Day" activities for the little goblins to enjoy and after 7 p.m., beware of more haunted attractions that open up, not recommended for children under 13 years of age. New this year is SCARE-a-oke every Friday and addition fan favorites including Chamber of Souls haunted house, The Play Ground Haunted House in 3D and Camp Whispering Pines. 5. Walk for a change. 2019 Seattle AIDS Walk & Run. Seattle, Volunteer Park. Sept. 28.  Starts at 9:30 a.m. Join the celebration of over 33 years of the Seattle AIDS walk and run to end stigma and transmissions and HIV-related deaths. The walk raises awareness and funds for disease research and hopeful for a cure. Help the organization reach their goal of over $200 thousand in support of education, cures and community outreach. 6. Try the finest teas. Northwest Tea Festival. Seattle Center. Sept. 28-29. For over 12 years, the Northwest Tea Festival has been showcasing a world of teas to the PNW. Stop by again this year and experience your favorites from local growers and retails. Sample teas along the way, and learn from the industry experts where your leaves come from and what teas you prefer. 7. Sips and tunes in the Gig. 6th Annual Cider Swig Greater Peninsula Cider Festival. Gig Harbor. Sept. 28. Noon- 5 p.m. Two dozen regional cider makers will present over 100 hard ciders to the growing community of cider enthusiasts in Gig Harbor this weekend. Sip a fresh, crisp cider, enjoy music from the Cider Swig Stage and Carnivale Stage with many local acts and food to try.  Stick around for the Apple Carnivale Zone street performers, games and more for the whole family to enjoy.
