UW student who made campus shooting threats deported

 Keshav Bhide

SEATTLE — A former University of Washington student who police say made online threats to kill women on campus was deported.

Keshav Bhide was convicted of cyberstalking on Dec. 11 and deported to India.

According to court records, in June, police learned of multiple social media threats by a Google user "Foss Dark." Some of the comments discussed support of the University of California, Santa Barbara shooter, Elliot Rodger, whose shooting spree in May killed six people and injured seven others.

Investigators connected "Foss Dark" to Bhide and revealed his intentions to carry out an attack against women on the UW Seattle campus.

Bhide was arrested and charged in both state and federal court.

He left on an international flight Wednesday afternoon from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, accompanied by special agents from Homeland Security and the FBI.

Bhide is not allowed to return to the U.S. for 10 years.
