SEATTLE — Two people were burned in an RV fire in Seattle's Interbay neighborhood.
- Couple burned in fire
- RV was on one of city's designated lots for homeless
- Both victims expected to survive
- Propane tank may have exploded in fire
The fire started near the Whole Foods store on 15th Avenue West and West Armory Way at about 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
The RV was parked in one of the city’s designated areas for people who are living in vehicles.
The victims are a 27-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man. The man has burns on his face, arms and legs and the woman has burns on her hand. Both were transported to Harborview Medical Center.

Kenneth Brooks, who lives at the lot, described what he saw.
"There's two people over here against the fence -- you know hollering and screaming because they're burned and they wanted help," said Brooks.
A man who lives in an RV next door to the one that caught fire said he heard some popping noises, stepped outside and then some kind of tank, possibly propane, exploded.
Brooks said he was concerned that the fire would bring negative publicity to the RV lot.
“Everybody tries to keep to themselves and they don’t bother nobody and you, know, just living their own lives. And this was just a freak accident that’s going to get blown out of proportion and we’re going to get looked down on. I can see that already,” said Brooks.
One couple told KIRO 7 they were concerned how close the RVs are parked together.
Seattle fire said the fire was caused by cooking stove fuel that was spilled near a portable heater.
