TUKWILA, Wash. — Tukwila police were called to the scene of a shooting a block away from Foster High School. The suspect is still at large.
The shooting occurred at South 144th Street and 41st Avenue South at about 6 a.m. Thursday.
Police arrived at the Riverton Terrace Apartments to find a man in his 30s with a gunshot wounds. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Police searched the area for the shooter, but only had minimal information about the suspect and the person was not found.
Two schools in the area were locked down for a short time until the scene was secured and the search was completed. The lockdowns have since been lifted.
Tukwila officers and detectives are interviewing witnesses and continuing the investigation.
