Tasha Haefs had called the police to report that the devil had tried to attack her, WDAF reported.

Police responded to her home and found blood near the front door of the house. They also heard a woman singing inside.

When they knocked, she sang louder and would not open the door.

A police officer said he looked in a window and saw what appeared to be a dead child.

Police forced their way inside and found Haefs in the kitchen. She had blood on her legs and feet, and cuts and scratches on her hands. They also found a cut and puncture wound on her leg, WDAF reported.

Two knives were also found in the home, KCTV reported.

The Associated Press reported that a screwdriver with blood on it was also found.

The AP reported that Haefs told police that she killed her son in a bathtub and decapitated him.

Police also found a decapitated dog in the basement.

Police said three other children lived in the home, WDAF reported, but they were not home at that time, according to KCTV.

Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker said she is going to review government systems to make sure that they didn’t miss anything before the child was killed, WDAF reported. But Baker said she is unaware of anything that failed in the system.
