EL PASO, Texas — One person has died and five others are seriously wounded after gunfire erupted over the weekend in East El Paso, Texas, authorities said.
According to KTSM and KVIA, the incident occurred shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday near the Socorro Activities Complex. El Paso County sheriff’s deputies arrived to find a 21-year-old man dead and five others who had suffered serious injuries in a mass shooting, the news outlets reported.
Crews rushed the injured victims to nearby hospitals for treatment, authorities said. No further details about their conditions were immediately available.
Investigators, who have not said whether anyone has been arrested in connection with the shooting, continue to investigate the case, the news outlets reported.
