SAN DIEGO — At least one person was injured Thursday when a stage collapsed during a New Year’s Eve party being held at a San Diego warehouse, according to multiple reports.
Police told KSWB and KNSD that they responded around 10 p.m. to a warehouse in the city’s Miramar neighborhood after an upper-level stage collapsed on a group.
Guests told KNSD that there were a couple of hundred people at the party before the floor collapsed, apparently because of the weight of the crowd.
“It kind of felt a little shaky earlier in the night,” guest Isiah Paiter told KNSD. “(With) too many people on it, it kind of just fell through and a couple people fell. It was really unfortunate.”
Police told the news station it didn’t appear that the warehouse structure itself collapsed.
