Police: driver rammed squad car, flipped vehicle with kids inside

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two people were arrested and face charges after police said they led them on a high-speed chase and crashed a car with kids inside in Memphis.

According to an affidavit obtained by WHBQ, a Memphis police officer saw a Kia run a red light.

Police told WHBQ that when officers pursued the Kia, the driver of the Kia turned around and used the car to intentionally ram the officer’s squad car. Police then chased the car until it crashed and landed upside down. The person in the driver’s seat and another adult in the car were arrested.

The affidavit obtained by WHBQ said two children, ages 4 years and 7 months, were inside the car.
