CHINO HILLS, Calif. — A man has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping, torturing, and holding a woman against her will for months in his California home.
On Thursday after 7 p.m., the San Bernadino County Sheriff’s Department’s Chino Hills station said they were contacted by a woman who claimed she was held against her will for months at a man’s home where she was allegedly tortured, physically assaulted, and raped. The woman identified the man as Peter McGuire, 59.
Deputies from the Chino Hills Police Department served a search warrant at McGuire’s home but he fled before they got there. He was located Saturday at a home in Orange County and surrendered after a standoff with SWAT officers, according to The Associated Press.
McGuire was taken into custody and booked on recommended charges of kidnapping, torture, aggravated mayhem, rape, false imprisonment, and assault with a deadly weapon, according to the AP.
