According to the BBC and Reuters, Buckingham Palace shared a photo on Monday, Charles’ 74th birthday, of the new king leaning against a large tree in Windsor Great Park.

“His Majesty The King has officially become park ranger of Windsor Great Park, 70 years after his father, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, was appointed to the post,” the palace captioned the photo on Instagram. “The Ranger of the Great Park offers oversight and guidance to the deputy ranger and his team in the day-to-day stewardship of one of the country’s oldest estates.”

Charles – who became king after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, died in September – stayed out of the public eye on his birthday, according to the news outlets. However, the Household Cavalry band played “Happy Birthday” outside the palace on Monday morning, and gun salutes were held in London, the BBC reported.
