WATERLOO, Iowa — An Iowa woman is accused of animal neglect after a dead dog was found inside a locked bathroom in the home where she lived, authorities said.
Alicia Cai Swanson, 22, of Waterloo, was arrested Friday and charged with animal neglect causing death, the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reported. She was released from jail pending trial, the newspaper reported.
The landlord of the home where Swanson lived called the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 22 when he discovered the dog, the Courier reported. The dog had been locked inside the bathroom with no food or water, the newspaper reported.
