TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Police in Indiana discovered a body at the bottom of a 20-foot hole in Terre Haute, authorities said.
According to the Terre Haute Police Department, the body was found at the bottom of what was believed to be an old well, the Tribune-Star of Terre Haute reported.
Terre Haute Police Chief Shawn Keen said detectives have not found any evidence that points to foul play, and observations at the scene indicate the death does not appear to be recent, the newspaper reported.

An investigation has begun and an autopsy has been scheduled, WTWO-TV reported. Authorities believe the dead person is a male, the television station reported.
Keen said the city has secured the site until a solution for the hole is made, the Tribune-Star reported. Authorities have left voice messages with the out-of-state company that owns the property, according to the newspaper.
