PARADISE, Mont. — A freight train traveling in western Montana derailed Sunday morning, sending several of the 25 cars into a river, authorities said.

The derailment occurred on the banks of the Clark Fork River, located west of Paradise in Sanders County, at about 9:20 a.m. MDT, KFBB-TV reported.

The area is located approximately 200 miles northwest of Bozeman, according to CNN.

According to the Sanders County Sheriff’s Office, the train derailed across the river from Quinn’s Resort, KPAX-TV reported. The sheriff’s office reported that there were no hazardous materials on the cars, and that most of them were filled with canned food and clay products, according to the television station.

One car was refrigerated, but it was unclear what was inside the car, according to KPAX. Some of the cars appeared to be empty, the television station reported.

No injuries have been caused from the derailment, KFBB reported.

The cause of the derailment is under investigation, according to CNN.
