WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — A woman who sheriff’s deputies said was initially a victim during a store robbery is now facing charges for taking lottery tickets from the store during that robbery.
Sheriff’s deputies with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that Lakiesha Deshawn McGhee was the person who called 911 during a robbery on Jan. 18 at the J&J Dollar Store in Warner Robins.
Surveillance video shared by the sheriff’s office shows multiple suspects with guns during the robbery. In a news release, deputies said there were three suspects who entered the store at gunpoint and shot and killed an employee, Sabrina Renee Dollar. One video shows the group entering the store and threatening customers, and another shows a single suspect with a gun walking into a back room.

McGhee is now facing charges because deputies said they found evidence she stole lottery tickets from the same office where Dollar lay dying after she was shot, The Associated Press reported. Deputies also said McGhee is believed to have briefly disconnected power to the building’s security system, the AP reported.
According to a news release from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, McGhee is charged with theft by taking and tampering with evidence.
Sheriff’s deputies have not accused McGee of being involved with the shooting at J&J Dollar, which is a business that offers video poker and sells lottery tickets, The Associated Press reported.
