ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. — Police in Virginia discovered a dead baby inside the shopping bag of a transient woman accused of assaulting an officer, authorities said Sunday.
According to WDBJ, Roanoke County police arrested Mandy Lavonne Lacy, 34, on Sunday after officers responded to a call about a woman behaving strangely at Tanglewood Mall. When police approached Lacy, she punched one officer, the news outlet reported.
Following Lacy's arrest, authorities found an infant's body in her shopping bag, the Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.
