AUSTIN, Texas — Keep your eyes on the skies.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield delighted fans and alien enthusiasts, alike, Wednesday night after tweeting about a possible close encounter he and his wife experienced.
“Almost 100%, Em and I just saw a UFO drop straight out of the sky on our way home from dinner...” Mayfield wrote, detailing a “very bright ball of light” descending from the sky towards Lake Travis.
Almost 100%, Em and I just saw a UFO drop straight out of the sky on our way home from dinner... we stopped and looked at each other and asked if either of us saw it... Very bright ball of light going straight down out of the sky towards Lake Travis. Anybody else witness this?

Meanwhile, Emily Mayfield posted a pair of tweets regarding the encounter, but only the second in the set remains available on the social media platform, KVUE reported.
I won’t lie... I’m typically not someone who buys into UFO talk. But all I know is... I saw something tonight that I have never seen. And I’m a little thrown off.

According to TMJ4s, Baker Mayfield is not the first NFL player to report a UFO sighting.
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers reportedly claimed experiencing a close encounter involving an orange object in the sky that was eventually chased by fighter jets, the TV station reported in September 2020.
