MANCHESTER, Conn. — One person is dead after a car struck a Connecticut apartment building early Thursday, sparking a large fire, authorities said.

According to WFSB and WTNH, the wreck occurred shortly before 3 a.m. at a six-unit apartment building on Center Street in Manchester. Firefighters arrived to find one person in the car dead, the news outlets reported.
All 14 people who lived in the building safely escaped from the blaze, authorities said.
No further details about the incident, including the victim’s identity, were immediately available.
