Martin was behind more than 700 records, as well as 23 No. 1 singles in the United states and 30 No. 1 singles in the United Kingdom, according to the BBC and Billboard.
He produced "virtually all [the Beatles'] songs" and also was the band's arranger, adding strings to "Yesterday" and "A Day in the Life," Billboard reports.
