EVERETT, Wash. — An Everett home was damaged Friday afternoon when a tree struck by lightning fell on it.
The incident happened along Mukilteo Boulevard.
Crews told KIRO 7 the tree also ruptured a gas line.
"It was amazing, it was incredible,” said Linda Liberato, a neighbor, said about the force she felt when the lightning struck.
No injuries were reported.
Neighbor Devyn Mattson also heard the strike.
"I heard a big boom that was super loud,” Mattson said.
"I was kind of afraid, because I didn't want it falling on my house."
The homeowners, who weren't inside the residence at the time, say there is minor damage to their garage, which is now leaking from the rain and is mostly covered with branches of the tree.
