BATTLE GROUND, Wash. — A National Weather Service damage assessment team confirmed a tornado caused damage in Battle Ground, Washington on Thursday.
NWS is still determining a rating, but the winds were strong enough to send a board through a wall -- uprooting trees and sending debris flying.
Video on Twitter shows what appears to be a funnel cloud with debris flying around a residential neighborhood shortly before noon.
Multiple power lines are down and some damage is reported. See photos of downed trees and other damage in the area here.
The City of Battle Ground, which is in Clark County, is just north of Vancouver.
Prarie Electric says the town is without power and that some cell service was down.
