MARYSVILLE, Wash. — Police are investigating threats made against Marysville Pilchuck High School, received near the end of the school day on Monday. Students were released early.

The call comes months after another a shooting that left five students dead, including the gunman. In October, 15-year-old Jaylen Fryberg shot the students and then himself after inviting them to lunch in the cafeteria.

According to police, the call was similar in nature to previous hoax calls received in months past.

Earlier this year, bomb threats were taken by staff at MPHS in January. In that case, the caller used an electronic voice, but was directed at law enforcement and not students or staff.

Also on Monday, a teacher took down a shooter at North Thurston High School, which is about two hours south of MPHS. No one was injured in MTHS' shooting on Monday.
