Tacoma's first recreational marijuana store opened its doors to customers Friday morning.
Owners said they waited until Friday to be certain they had a supply of pot for customers.
People lined up around the building at Rainier on Pine to buy weed. The first sale went to Joe LaPorte of Maine. LaPorte said he was in town on vacation and decided he wanted to experience purchasing legal pot for himself.
Asked how it felt LaPorte said, "It will feel great later."
Owners of Rainier on Pine said they have plans to expand to other stores, and possibly other states.
