Tacoma home converted to duplex burns in fire

The fire quickly spread from the first floor to the attic.

TACOMA, Wash. — Fire crews were putting out hot spots late Tuesday morning after a fire broke out at a north Tacoma home.

Firefighters told KIRO 7 the flames started on the ground floor of the house in the 600 block of North K Street and quickly raced to the attic.

The house had been converted into apartments.

All the occupants were out of the building and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
