KENT, Wash. — A driver and passenger died after a car crashed down a ravine in Kent on Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday afternoon, the driver was identified as a 25-year-old Federal Way resident.
The passenger was identified as a 25-year-old Auburn resident.
Their names have not yet been released.
The crash occurred at Southeast Kent-Kangley Road and 124th Avenue Southeast.
Kent police said early reports were that a passerby noticed a vehicle deep in the woods on the west side of 124th Ave SE and called 911.
Police found two men inside the heavily damaged vehicle. Kent fire responded and the driver was declared dead at the scene.
The passenger was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
He later died, authorities said on Wednesday afternoon.
Kent police said that alcohol may have contributed to the crash, which remains under investigation.
