BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham police were called to the Aloha Motel, 315 Samish Way, at 2:40 a.m. for a report of a man who was badly beaten.
The 33-year-old victim was found unresponsive in one of the motel rooms. Medics transported the victim to St Joseph's Hospital where he remains with life-threatening injuries.
The man believed to be responsible for the attack was identified as 34-year-old David Alan Solomon Jr., police said.
Police said Solomon went to the Aloha Motel, kicked in the door of one of the rooms, confronted the victim and attacked him, causing severe head injuries.
Investigators said Solomon was then driven from the motel by 25-year-old Cody Alexander George. Police found George and arrested him on charges of rendering criminal assistance.
Solomon came to the Bellingham Police Department about 3 a.m. Tuesday and turned himself in.
Detectives interviewed him and then booked him into the Whatcom County Jail on a warrant for first-degree murder.
