Teens charged in murder of Parkland man to face judge

TACOMA, Wash. — Three teenagers charged with the murder of a 38-year-old man last month will face a Pierce County judge Friday.

The three 16-year-olds were arrested early Thursday when a tip led police to a Tacoma neighborhood.

Khiry Baylis, Rasjon Robinson and Dasjon Robinson had been on the run after the murder of 38-year-old Lorenzo Parks on May 18 in Parkland.

Detectives say Parks was randomly targeted and shot after a group of young men tried to rob him and Parks told them he didn't have any money.

“The sad part about this is they’re 16 years old, and at that age, what they’ve done is they’ve really ruined their lives, along with other people’s lives, along with the family of the person they killed, and that didn't need to happen,” said Ed Troyer with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.

Two men, ages 19 and 20, are already in custody, and there are two more teenage suspects who still have not been caught.  Deputies say anyone who sees Dakota Collins and James Mapp should consider them to be armed and dangerous.
