TACOMA, Wash. — The sights and sounds of classic video games bring back a strong sense of nostalgia for many people, but especially for Christoper Cline.
“They’re my childhood, they’re my life,” Cline said.
Cline amassed a roughly $65,000 vintage video game collection. He is in between jobs and moves so he rented a locker at Tacoma Storage Court for many of his things, including the games.
Sometime between August 7 and 28, thieves broke in and ransacked.
“Inside was an absolute mess,” He said. “All my personal belongings had been smashed up, boxes of video games, movies, electronics, all stolen taken away.”
Cline’s been calling stores and checking sites trying to locate his collection.
Meanwhile, Tacoma police are pouring over surveillance video and searching for finger prints on a bag the thieves left behind.
Many of the games are for the Atari 2600 and Sega console, along with more modern gaming systems. Most of the items are in pristine collection, so Cline hope people will call police if they see video games for sale and the deal seems too good to be true.
