Sinkhole closes one lane of traffic in Bellevue

Police said the sinkhole was about three feet wide and four feet deep -- just south of Bellevue Square Mall.

BELLEVUE, Wash. — One lane was closed to traffic on Sunday morning -- because of a sinkhole on NE 4th Street in Bellevue.

Police said the sinkhole was about three feet wide and four feet deep, on the 10500 block of the road -- just south of Bellevue Square Mall.

Officials believe the sinkhole was caused by area construction.

As of 11:00 a.m., the Bellevue, Washington Transportation Department was making repairs.
