83-year-old with Alzheimer's disease found safe after Silver Alert

Merrick may be driving a blue 2005 Chrysler 300 with Washington license plate ADR1010.

ISSAQUAH, Wash. — An 83-year-old man with Alzheimer's disease who was the subject of a Silver Alert has been found safe by Seattle police Friday morning.

A Silver Alert uses the Washington State Patrol's Endangered Missing Person Advisory alert system to assist in the recovery of a missing endangered person aged 60 or older.

Bryant Merrick left his Issaquah home in the Providence Point area of Issaquah at about 11 a.m. Wednesday and did not return.

The alert was issued Thursday and freeway signs posted the description of the car he may have been driving.

Merrick moved to Issaquah from Everett within the last few weeks and is not familiar with the area.
