SEATTLE — Friends and family say a young man was killed in a drive-by shooting after a funeral on Friday afternoon.

Police said the shooting occurred at 44th Avenue South and South Cloverdale Street in South Seattle. Witnesses heard three gun shots and began calling 911 just after 3 p.m.
When officers arrived they found the adult male victim on the sidewalk and they immediately called for medics.
KIRO 7 Chopper flew over the scene where a body appeared to be covered.
Medics attempted life-saving measures, but he died at the scene.
Friends say the man was on the phone with his mother when he was shot.
A person who was at the funeral told KIRO 7 that Friday's shooting victim was attending a funeral for someone killed in a drive-by shooting in Federal Way.
Seattle police's gang unit is investigating.
"We have increased patrols in the area right now and in the future ... in the area ... There has been a number of violent crimes lately," Lauren LovanHill with Seattle Police Department said.
KIRO 7 asked about a vehicle that the person responsible was driving, but that information was not available.
Friday's shooting marks the 11th homicide in Seattle this year; this number includes an officer-involved shooting earlier this month.
