OAKLAND, Calif. — A Seattle-bound flight had to return to Oakland International Airport after takeoff because of a bird strike Friday night, said airport officials.
The Alaska Airlines flight 349 flight took off at 6:47 p.m. and returned back to Oakland 10 minutes later, said officials with the airline company.
An Oakland Airport duty manager said the Boeing 737 plane was at 5,000 feet when there was a bird strike to the front of the aircraft.
Passengers were transferred to another plane, which was set to leave at midnight.
There were no injuries.
